Non-Surgical Eyelift
What is a Non-Surgical Eyelift?
As we age, our face loses volume and elasticity causing the skin to droop and wrinkles to form. This can be seen with our eyelids the change disproportionally and our eyebrows that begin to sag. Our youthful appearance is no longer visible and instead, we are left looking tired and old. Both areas can be addressed by Dr. Jacono, New York’s best facial plastic surgeon and his sought after surgical skills. But not every patient wants to go under the knife. Instead, they are looking for more non-invasive procedures to help restore a rested and more youthful appearance.
An author of several books on the face including “Face the Facts” and “The Face of the Future”, Dr. Jacono is internationally recognized for his in-depth knowledge and techniques. He also understands that not all patients are good candidates or even wish to have surgery, Dr. Jacono has developed a series of non-surgical procedures to help turn back the hands of time. A popular one is his non-surgical eyelid lift.
How does a Non-Surgical Eyelift Work?
As we age, eyebrows droop over the eyes and this causes the upper eyelids to shorten. At the same time, our lower eyelids begin to hollow out from volume loss and our cheeks begin to droop. This is how the dark circles under our eyelids are formed. Dr. Jacono understands this process of aging and has used his years of surgical experience and knowledge to create a non-surgical solution to correct these issues.
To start the process, Dr. Jacono uses a series of injectable treatments to restore the faces natural youthful proportions and an overall look of rejuvenation. Uses wrinkle treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers like Sculptra and Juvederm, he builds up the hollowed portions of the face re-establishing collagen growth and fuller volume.
For the lifting of the eyelids, Dr. Jacono injects botulinum toxin into the muscle areas that cause the pulling down of the eyebrows. By injecting the toxin into these muscles, the brows will lift causing the upper eyelids to open gain. These results form the basis of a non-surgical browlift with open upper eyelids being visible. This non-surgical approach is best suited for patients that do not have a severe drooping of the eyebrows. Patients who do have a heavier drooping should consider surgical options such as browlifts and upper blepharoplasty procedures. During your consultation, Dr. Jacono can better advise whether a non-surgical solution is best suited for you.
To treat the sunken areas of the lower eyelids and the dark circles, Dr. Jacono only uses hyaluronic acids to inject into the treatment area. This recommendation comes from his years of experience working with eyelids and their extremely thin skin. Injecting too superficially can result in lumpy irregularities. To avoid these lumps, Dr. Jacono uses only Restylane or Belotero because they are much softer fillers and create fewer lumps.
